The Urban League is a non-profit organization that works to empower all members of the community in areas such as workforce & economic development, entrepreneurship, training & the achievement of our youth, and home ownership.
Linking Youth to Technology through Education (LYTE) operates state-of-the-art computer labs for summer and after school programs in both Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Union County. It is an education, tutoring and personal development program for children and youth to prepare them for success in school and in life. They serve children and youth of all ages.
Urban Youth Empowerment Program (UYEP) program is designed to assist at-risk, out of school and/or adjudicated youth between the ages of 18-21 in becoming more self-sufficient members of their communities. UYEP is a career preparation program for at-risk Youth Offenders and Youth At Risk. The UYEP lasts up to 9 months and is an open-ended, open-exit program (Youth complete at their own pace).
