Guided Problem Solving * Youth identified as at-risk because of classroom behavior issues and/or frequent conflicts with teachers, students, or family are referred to Guided Problem Solving to help develop alternatives to their disruptive behavior.
* The Youth Services Coordinator meets one-on-one with the youth for up to six sessions. Utilizing active listening, solution finding, and goal setting, the Youth Coordinator helps the youth clearly define areas of conflict, take responsibility for their role in the conflict, and develop more effective options for the conflicts and challenges they face.
Youth Mediation * Young people involved in conflicts (including parent-child, disagreements between friends, school conflicts) meet with the other party in a safe, confidential setting with trained mediators.
* The parties create solutions that address the concerns of both, under the guidance of the mediators.
Truancy Mediation * Offers a confidential opportunity for youth, parent/guardian, and school officials to become involved in creating a solution, with the help of trained mediators.
* Helps address the root causes of truancy and creates a clear plan to improve attendance and establish relationships between child, family, and school.
PACES (Parent and Adolescent Communication Enhancement Skills) * Youth participate with parents or guardians, siblings, and/or other interested family members in a series of 6 – 10 week interactive, group sessions.
* Equips individuals and families with skills to better address their own conflicts.
* All clients are individually screened and interviewed prior to acceptance.
* All services are confidential, voluntary, and free of charge.
